Exodus - A Series of Found Object Boxes
Each Exodus box tells of people leaving a place, of time unwinding motionlessly in the aftermath of change. Objects that once held importance, necessity, and intrigue are now forgotten in dusty drawers, fighting against vines, thorns, and brambles as nature creeps in to lay claim to the cast-off bits of human existence and memory. In the rural area I come from, I have watched tradition and a way of life erased in the name of progress. Within these little confines there is evidence of this former reality. Here these pieces of the past are given pride of place and the power to tell their quiet, half-remembered stories to those who care to listen.
