Pieces of the Past
This series is about finding beauty and wonder in the world around you. It is about how certain textures, colors, and pieces of things can recall memories, deep rooted thoughts, and feelings. They can be transformed, when treated a certain way, or paired with something you wouldn’t expect; reborn with their own new purpose and given a life of their own.
All of the works here are created on metal plates attached to basswood cradled boards, except for Without Our Past, which is made using woven strips of varnished paper.
